Minimalist Poster: Pan's Labyrinth
The reasons behind my minimalist poster:
- The red and blue background - In the film the blue colours represent the real world where as the fantasy world has red/orange/yellow colours
- Ofelia is seen standing in the blue world as that is where she is born, however by having a red body, this shows her soul is from the fantasy world, which she is returning to
- The splatters around and in the tree's hollow represent the underlying theme of the menstrual cycle
- The font is similar to the film's actual film but simpler and clearer
Original Design:
My original design had to be changed from the original design because it was too hard to find an image to use for the faun and Ofelia holding the baby as the only scene in the film with it included was carved into a stone, the lighting was too dark to see the outline and was therefore too hard to trace/select on Photoshop.
